I need health advice (Fast!) I have chest pain and a racing heart?
I am a white, teenage female. My mother smokes very much and I am exposed to second hand smoke several times a day. Our air conditioner doens’t work too well, so the heat may have had something to do with this. I was bitten by a tic about a month ago. I have a VERY difficult time sleeping and at least one night a week do not sleep at all. I have a big amount of stress in my life.
Yesterday, immediatly after taking the first bite of my lunch, my chest began to hurt. I decided to lay down. Then, my back, stomach, and chest began to hurt tremendously. I decided to try to sleep it off, but whenever I tried to slep- I’d wake up at least every thirty minutes with the same pain. Last year, around this time, I caught mono, my heart murmur came back, and was told that I have hypo tension.
My chest hurts pretty bad and it will not allow me to concentrate in school. My heart is beating too quickly. Shoud I go to the emergency room?
My temperature is 99.5 F
Sounds like a panic attack to me too. If you don’t know what to do going to the doctor is always a good idea though — better safe than sorry. Even if you don’t go to the emergency room though, I would see a doctor in the next day or so, just to be checked out and to see if something can’t be done about the anxiety.
